Bruce Cohen is an Oscar and Tony-winning, Emmy-nominated producer of film, television, theater, and live events. He received the 2023 National Medal of Arts from President Biden, for whom he served as co-chair of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, along with Lady Gaga. He won an Academy Award for Best Picture for AMERICAN BEAUTY and earned additional Best Picture nominations for MILK and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. His recent film and television projects as a producer are EX-HUSBANDS, BLINK TWICE, THE GREAT LILLIAN HALL, and RUSTIN.
He was Emmy-nominated for producing the 83RD ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS, and as a career producer, he is a member of Producers United. He produced both the feature film and Broadway musical versions of BIG FISH, won the Tony for Best Play for co-producing THE INHERITANCE, was Tony nominated for co-producing SLAVE PLAY and as a co-producer of GYPSY starring Audra McDonald, now on Broadway. He lives in New York City with his husband and daughter.
